CSX Transportation’s ex-Clinchfield Railroad mainline has seen devastating impacts from Hurricane Helene’s once-in-a-generation flood. Approximately 40 miles of the railroad have washouts.

A train caboose restoration project, three years in the making, is now complete. The New York Central Railroad 17909 caboose has been completely restored and is now open for use as an Airbnb.
