Most of New England will get a messy mix of snow and rain from this weekend's storm. That may depress snowfall totals in Massachusetts, but ski country may see more than a foot of white.

Snow will arrive as we head into Saturday evening and roads will become slippery, but this will not be a major storm.

A mix of snow and rain is coming to Massachusetts Thursday and there's another storm in the forecast for the Boston area this weekend.

Temperatures are projected to slowly warm overnight into Sunday, causing a change to rain in Boston and southeastern Massachusetts. However, if the current forecast holds, ice may be a “big problem” for towns to the north and west, according to the Weather Team.

Boston meteorologists are closely monitoring a couple of potential storms that could bring more snow and rain this week.

In Boston, 5.5 inches of snow fell at Logan Airport, where the city's official snow totals are measured by the National Weather Service. Boston has now had a total of 22.3 inches of snow for the winter of 2024-25. At this point last winter, it was just 9.2 inches.
