On a quest to preserve the country’s indigenous crafts, a young artist recently held an exhibition to pay homage to the artisans behind Pakistan’s favorite handmade toys.

Scholars speculate that gatka was established by the sixth Sikh guru, Guru Hargobind, who introduced the kirpan (dagger) for self-defence.
