The BMW 3-Series is the metric all sport sedans must be measured against. Rightfully so, but the 2025 Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0T just oozes its own undeniable charm.

Over the following 15 years, 572,646 Giulia saloons would roll out of Alfa Romeoʼs new factory at Arese, and, although overshadowed today by the 105 familyʼs more glamorous GTs, curvaceous Spiders, cool cabriolets and exotic prototypes, Sattaʼs Giulia trendsetter deserves to lead our celebratory parade.

The news comes by way of an interview with Alfa Romeo / Maserati CEO Santo Ficili, who took the helm at the automaker back in October 2024. While detailing the brand’s upcoming model push through 2030, Ficili made mention of a new Stelvio coming for 2025, and that the Giulia will follow in 2026.

Brand will move towards a "multi-energy" strategy headed by the next Stelvio later this year, and in 2026, the apparent crossover-styled new generation Giulia.

Alfa Romeo’s boss Santo Ficili told French car magazine L’Argus the next-generation Giulia will feature “a new design with a new type of bodywork.” Later Ficili confirmed that the next-generation Stelvio crossover and Giulia sedan will ride on the same Stellantis STLA Large platform.

After decades of selling traditional three-box sedans, Alfa Romeo has suggested its next Giulia will have a different, more SUV-like appearance.

The Italian marque planned to go fully electric in 2027 but will now continue offering gas powertrains as it plots a radical reimagining of the Giulia sedan.
