The AIM Business Confidence Index climbed to its historic high of 68.5 on two occasions, in 1997 and 1998, and sank to an all-time low of 33.3 in February 2009, during the Great Recession.

The aim is for students to develop a good grasp of the structure of a modern communication system and to understand the basic issues at each stage in the system.
