On Wednesday night during his annual Town Hall Meeting, Del Conte unveiled the university's plans for a replacement event known as 'Texas Football Fan Day', which will take place on April 26, and consist of numerous different types of interaticve events for fans.

AUSTIN — Texas announced Thursday that it will not hold a spring football game for the first time in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s four-year Longhorn tenure. Sarkisian made the announcement on a football podcast and cited the wear and tear of two consecutive long seasons as the reason for the cancellation.

Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte announced on Wednesday that the program will host a Fan Day at Memorial Stadium on April 26. More details will be released over the next few months, but the free admission event will give fans an opportunity to get signed autographs and photos with players on the team.
