Her contract with Mizzou was due to expire in April and had not been renewed. Pingeton and the university confirmed Wednesday that she would not be returning to the program.

Fans stood in the arena as the Mizzou video board played a tribute for Pingeton, commemorating her 15 years coaching Mizzou women's basketball. The video included several notable games including the 70-69 OT winner over South Carolina and then- No. 13 Mizzou's upset over then-No. 11 Tennessee, in front of the program record 11,092 fans.
