MLB umpire Hunter Wendelstedt was able to walk off the field after taking a line drive to his head while working first base during Monday's game between the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets.

First base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt was struck in the head by a foul ball hit by Mets center fielder Tyrone Taylor, forcing him to leave the game. Per Justin Tasch of the New York Post, Wendelstedt was "down to the ground for several minutes before he got to his feet and was assisted off the field."

Umpire Hunter Wendelstedt left the game he was working Wednesday after suffering a scary injury on a line drive. Wendelstedt was working first base during the game between the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis.
