A baby seal found stranded on a street near Connecticut’s Yale University last month has died from severe digestive issues, a local aquarium announced Monday. Mystic Aquarium said “Chappy,” a nod to Chapel Street in New Haven where he was rescued,

An aquarium was treating the seal pup for dehydration, malnutrition and other health issues before its condition declined past the point of no return.

The seal named Chappy, which had been found flat on its stomach on a cold, snow-encrusted street in New Haven, Conn., had an intestinal disease, a necropsy showed.
