This is where the Wests of today all started. Now the home of food, drink and entertainment, Wests started life as the Western Suburbs (N’cle) Leagues Club in New Lambton in September 1960 on the site it still occupies, on the corner of Hobart Road and Tauranga Road in New Lambton. The club was originally formed to support rugby league; the 200 foundation members and the board of directors started the business to raise money so their team could enter a first division team in the local league, and that team was actually one of four foundation teams to start the competition that still exists today.
