Is the Crayon Shinchan Kids School no longer in operation? I have 2 kids age 6 and 9. From your website, it says the kids ski school only accepts kids from 7 years old.
We have a reservation to stay in March. Can we request a North or South wing room ahead of time? We want to know so we can decide which location to reserve ski equipment rental ahead of time. Should we rent ski equipment from North Wing or Highland lodge?

Yes you can choose your booking between North and South wing. North wing is newer than South wing. I personally disliked the service at the South wing and I suggest if ski-in ski-out isn't your top priority, you should definitely stay at the Westin instead, which is 5 min away by a private monorail and bus. Westin and Ruusutsu are owned by the same owner. If you do stay at Ruusutsu, pick the North wing!
