I personally would not swim in this water. At one point in time, this was a gravel pit, and there were some environmental concerns with industrial chemical contamination after a flood that inundated the entire area on both sides of I-80. If you don't mind swimming in water that sees a lot of waterbird activity, and has a dog park on one shore, that's up to you. I'd think it would be more pleasant and safer to swim in either a motel pool or a municipal pool.
