Walked several sections of this path and alternated with the beaches when tide was out. Awesome scenery, great pubs with local beer and produce along the way. These beaches are absolutely beautiful w… L1STC的完整评论
I am starting this walk in a few days time and my intention is to leave my car at Berwick and then take the train to Morpeth to start the walk. I have just realised the long stay car parks in Berwick no longer allow parking in excess of 24 hours and I need to leave my car for 5 days. Can anyone advise where there is street parking or any alternative locations within reasonable proximity of Berwick station, Thank you

There are two parking options in Berwick - both over the bridge in Spittal and Tweedmouth, which is a long walk from the Railway Station. They are; West End, Tweedmouth (under the Royal Tweed Bridge) or the two car parks in Spittal, down by the beach on Sandstell Road. Other options would be: Leave your car at Cresswell (The drift cafe will allow you to park in their secure car park if you buy some scones?) walk north and get two buses back to Cresswell - X15 to Alnwick and then X20 to nearby Ellington. Leave the car at home. Catch the train to Newcastle or Morpeth and get to start at Cresswell, walk north, then catch the train home. I hope this is useful. I am thinking of walking St. Oswald's Way next May. Does it run contiguously with the Northumberland Coast Path between Alnmouth and Beadnell? If so, how strenuous is this section? I walked a bit of the South West Coast Path (between Penzance and Zennor) and found it quite strenuous! Thanks for sharing your experience.
