You can explore various parts of the ship, including the gun turrets and the crew's living quarters. The views of the river from the deck are also beautiful, offering some great photo opportunities.Wyatt B的完整评论

Every minute spent here was worth it. Lots of history and fascinating stuff onboard this ship, which is huge and beautiful. It's a bit of a workout though (which for me, is a bonus).ASeenath的完整评论
will be visiting for 1st time in Wilmington and both hubby and I are history bluffs but the datesa I put in for online tours said they have no openings? can people explore on their own without booking a tour? just wont't have added guide I guess - or we won't have access to below deck ? When we visited we just walked the ship following the well marked signs and reading the posted information boards at most of the most interesting areas. I believe when you enter there are those recoreded tour devices to rent too. Either way the battleship was a highlight of our time in Wilmington. It is truly awesome.
How long does it take to tour the ship? Is it appropriate for 6 year olds?

This is certainly appropriate for 6 year olds when their parents help in understanding the displays. I spent just over one hour and saw most of the displays. Lots of stairs.
Is this a good place to go on a field trip? I'm going with my school in May and this is one of the spots we are going to. I am still debating whether or not to go and this is probably going to be the difference.

Absolutely! Not only is this a historical battleship, it’s a war memorial too. We are from the UK and learned so much about the functions, war history, local motivation, the living conditions and technology involved in operating a magnificent, affective and efficient battleship Enjoy!
No, it is not handicapped accessible. The only way to tour the ship is to go up and down steep, ladder-like stairs. A wheelchair could be used on the deck possibly but not below.
