Hello, yes, dogs are allowed to walk in the castle square and garden, of course always on a leash. However, dogs are not allowed inside the castle rooms. We took turns waiting outside with the dog while the others visited the interior of the castle rooms. You definitely have to see the castle. It is one of the most beautiful castles I have ever seen.
Hi Peter, Quick question about Heidelberg Castle - did you go on a (English) guided tour of interior? If so, did you book in advance and how? I see on the Castle website that they list times and prices for the interior tour, but can't see anywhere to purchase online?? Thanks in advance for your advice, Kay.

We didn't do the guided tour so I'm not sure. Perhaps you can without flash. Enjoy Heidelberg... it was nicer than we expected.
