Is there a performance at Gion Corner on 9 March 2017? I visited Gion Corner website and it says "The Yasaka Hall will be closed for refurbishment work from March 1 to 16, 2017." Do they stop holding the performance or just move the venue?
Do you need to buy tickets ahead of time? If so, where? If not, how much in advance do you need to show up?

I don't think you can get them in advance, we lined up about an hour before hand and we were the first through the door. We had great seats. Try and gets seats in the front on the right, so you can see the stage and the tea demonstration.
The seating is like 1980s cinema style in the UK. but you can move freely and take pictures as your leisure, but will piss people off in the process. It's a great show nonetheless.
