I think by the time the snow is thick enough, it is quite unlikely that the snow will melt so quickly such that the penguin walk will be cancelled. This year’s winter seems to have arrived late which was why the snow wasn’t thick enough at the time of our visit which was around mid-Dec. The snow was very thick around the same time in 2016. Safest bet is still to schedule the visit in January. We were mindful of this and had decided to try our luck nevertheless.
