The forest itself is free. The visitor centers are free. You can generally park at various pull offs, a couple of picnic areas and trail heads. BUT look for signs -- if people vandalize or if there is active logging/drilling areas may be closed. ALSO -- hunting is allowed! Wear orange during hunting season, even if not hunting. NON hunters won'd want to come the first few days of deer season (right after Thanksgiving, but CHECK), except on Sundays when no hunting is allowed. (Too crowded)
